Tiny crops
Here is a picture of my one and only cucumber:
And my one and only carrot:
Lucky I am not relying on my vegetable patch to eat!!!
I had three large cucumbers from one plant on my allotment this year, but it has been a bad year for other things, such as carrots, tomatoes (which have succumbed to blight) and potatoes. Have you tried seed sprouting indoors, like alfalfa, fenugreek, mung beans, and lentils. No problem with slugs, weeds or bad weather with them and they are a lot less hard work!
I do occasionally sprout seeds, usually lentils from the larder. As I knew I was going to reply to your comment I have just put some mung beans into soak. (That was one of the things I hoped would happen from writing a blog - the interaction with others making me do things instead of putting them off, so thank you, Pete.) I am also trying to grow pea sprouts, like the ones you get in a punnet in the supermarket now. Having a second go at this. I use marrow fat peas as these are the only dried peas I can find nowadays.
